I Never Knew How Much I Disliked Myself

“I never knew how much I disliked myself until I started working with you”

Those were the exact words spoken by an incredible client today during her 1-1 coaching call. And I debated sharing those words with others, after all, it sounds horrifying!

But here’s the real truth: So many women go through life being mean to themselves, beating themselves up, putting themselves down- and thinking it’s OK. Maybe they simply aren’t aware that they’re doing it. Maybe they don’t think they have another option.

We think that if we like and accept ourselves, we might stop trying to change. Or that we’ll be too easy on ourselves. Or we’ll let ourselves go.

But just the opposite is true.

Her conversation with herself started changing in her first month of the Fit + Vibrant Over 50. She started being kind to herself. She started getting on her own side. She stopped putting herself down, and that’s when things started to change.

She ditched the ‘all or nothing’ mindset in favour of consistency.

She felt happier.

And she started to see results.

Self love, acceptance, respect. Appreciation is NOT complacency.
You cannot bully your body into a better body.
Nor does self-acceptance magically happen when you lose weight.

If you’re ready to end the on-again-off-again cycle, stop looking for a new plan, and start changing the conversation with yourself.

It’s time to stop putting up with self-bullying.

Putting yourself down takes no effort at all. It’s old. It’s boring. It’s a tiring story.

It’s time to rise up.

You are worth it.
