It’s Time to Rise Up

If I was in your head, what would I hear?

Do you struggle with thoughts of doubt and unworthiness? Do you feel like you aren’t worthy of reaching your goals? That other people can do it… but something is holding you back?

Those thoughts might be familiar. They might be automatic. They might be loud and persuasive. And even if those thoughts are there because you’ve played them many times in your head, it doesn’t make them true. You have the choice to either believe them or to begin thinking new thoughts that serve you. So do I.

Even though we say we don’t want those thoughts anymore, even though we wish they would go away, we latch onto them. Because they are comfortable. They’re keeping you stuck in this cozy place where there’s a sense of certainty, even if it’s not the certainty we want. Our brains and our bodies thrive on comfort.

“We can choose courage or we can choose comfort, but we can’t have both. Not at the same time.” – Brene Brown

That’s right; it takes courage to rise up and begin practicing a new story.

It takes courage to start thinking thoughts like ‘I am worth it’ and ‘I deserve to feel good in my body’ if you’ve been telling yourself just the opposite for so many years.

It takes immense strength to prioritize yourself. To allow yourself to feel radiance and joy.

Practicing the old stories is easy. It takes no effort. There’s no growth, no transformation. I say this with compassion because I want more for you and I know you’re capable of it.

This won’t happen all at once. It’s going to take practice and repetition and being willing to feel the discomfort that comes from growth. But it will be so worth it on the other side of the work that comes from changing these stories that have been holding you back for so long.

It’s time to rise up.

You are worth it.
